Morning:

Departure from Nairobi: Depart from Nairobi early (around 6:00 AM) and drive through the Kikuyu highlands to the Great Rift Valley viewpoint. 

Great Rift Valley Viewpoint: Stop for a photo opportunity and to admire the views of the Loita plains and Lake Naivasha below. 

Arrival at Mount Longonot: Arrive at Mount Longonot National Park and prepare for the hike. 

Afternoon:

Hike to the Crater Rim: Begin the hike up the mountain, which takes about 45 minutes to 2 hours, depending on fitness level. 

Crater Rim: Reach the rim of the crater and enjoy the panoramic views. 

Optional Crater Circuit: If you have the energy, you can hike around the crater rim (a 7.2 km loop).
