Safari Description
A 2-day, 1-night private safari from Mombasa or Diani to Tsavo East and Saltlick includes a morning pickup, a game drive in Tsavo East, and an afternoon drive to Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary (Saltlick) for an afternoon/evening game drive and overnight stay at the Saltlick Lodge. Day two involves an early morning game drive followed by breakfast, a final mid-morning game drive, and then driving back to your starting point.

Day 1: Diani to Tsavo East and Saltlick
Morning (approx. 5:30 AM): You'll depart from your hotel in Mombasa or Diani in a private 4x4 jeep.
Late Morning/Early Afternoon: Arrival at Tsavo East National Park for your first game drive. This park is known for its semi-arid plains and large elephant herds.
Afternoon: You'll exit Tsavo East and drive to Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary.
Late Afternoon/Evening: You'll check into the Saltlick Safari Lodge, which is famous for its elevated walkways and its waterhole, allowing for wildlife viewing directly from the lodge. You will have an afternoon game drive until sunset.
Evening: Dinner and overnight stay at Saltlick Safari Lodge.
Day 2: Saltlick to Mombasa/Diani
Early Morning (approx. 6:20 AM): You'll wake up early for a morning game drive in Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary to see active wildlife.
After breakfast, you'll enjoy another mid-morning game drive before returning to the lodge for lunch.
Afternoon: After checking out, you'll begin your drive back to Mombasa or Diani, with en-route game viewing as you exit the sanctuary.
Important notes
The itinerary is private, meaning it is tailored for your group and uses a private 4x4 vehicle.
Meal plans typically include lunch and dinner on day one and breakfast and lunch on day two.
The Saltlick Lodge is uniquely designed for wildlife viewing, with many guests enjoying seeing animals from their rooms or the terraces.
From Diani, it takes about three hours to reach Tsavo East and Taita Hills.
